How bright is it?
Brightness decides whether a screen is comfortable in a sunlit room and whether HDR has any punch. Here is what Kuycon monitors deliver, and what those numbers mean in practice.
The numbers
The 27-inch 5K models, the G27P and P27Z, reach 600 nits. The 32-inch 6K G32P reaches 500 nits. Both are brighter than a typical office monitor and stay comfortable in a well-lit room.
For everyday work you rarely run a screen at maximum; you match it to the room. The extra headroom matters most for HDR highlights and for rooms with a lot of daylight.
Brightness and comfort
The most comfortable setting is usually the one that matches the brightness of the wall behind the screen, not the maximum. A screen far brighter or dimmer than the room tires the eyes over a long day.
If your Mac cannot dim an external monitor enough with its own keys, the monitor's menu or a small free tool can take it lower in the evening.
