Is a Kuycon monitor compatible with your MacBook Pro?
Short answer: yes. A Kuycon monitor plugs into a MacBook Pro with a single USB-C cable, shows a native Retina 5K or 6K image, and charges the laptop while it works. Here is exactly what that means, port by port and spec by spec.
The one-cable answer
A Kuycon monitor connects to your MacBook Pro over a single USB-C cable. That one cable carries the video signal, up to 100 W of Power Delivery to charge the laptop, and a USB hub for your keyboard, mouse and drives. Plug in once and the desk is set.
You do not need a Thunderbolt-specific monitor. Every Thunderbolt 3, Thunderbolt 4 and USB4 port on a Mac is also a USB-C port, so your MacBook drives the screen through DisplayPort Alt Mode over that same connector. Close the lid or keep it open, the setup stays the same.
Native resolution on Apple Silicon
On a Mac with Apple Silicon (M1 and later), a Kuycon monitor runs at its full native resolution: 5K (5120 x 2880) on the G27P and P27Z, or 6K (6144 x 3456) on the G32P. That is 218 to 223 pixels per inch, the same Retina density as a MacBook's own screen, so text is razor sharp with no blur.
Recent Intel Macs are supported too, generally at 5K or 4K depending on the graphics. The image reaches the screen over USB-C, DisplayPort or HDMI, and macOS recognises the display automatically with no driver to install.
Colour that matches your Mac
Kuycon panels use the wide P3 colour space that Apple uses, so what you edit matches what you saw on the Mac. The G32P covers 99% DCI-P3 and the P27Z 98% DCI-P3, both with 10-bit colour and a factory colour error of ΔE < 2 on the P27Z. Brightness reaches 600 nits on the 27-inch 5K models and 500 nits on the 6K G32P, all with HDR support.

What resolution and refresh rate can I get with a Mac?
Native Retina resolution over a single cable: 5K (5120 x 2880) at up to 75 Hz on the G27P, 5K at up to 180 Hz on the P27Z, or 6K (6144 x 3456) at 60 Hz on the G32P. Macs with Apple Silicon (M1 and later) drive these natively; recent Intel Macs reach 5K or 4K depending on the model.
Do the USB-C ports support video?
Yes. The upstream USB-C port carries the video signal through DisplayPort Alt Mode, so one USB-C or Thunderbolt cable from your Mac shows the full Retina image. The remaining USB-C and USB-A ports work as a hub for your accessories.
How fast are the USB-C ports?
The upstream USB-C port handles video, up to 100 W of charging and USB data for the built-in hub at the same time. The downstream USB-C and USB-A ports let you connect keyboards, drives and accessories, with the monitor acting as a docking hub for your Mac.
Is it Thunderbolt?
The monitors connect over USB-C using DisplayPort Alt Mode, not Thunderbolt, and that is good news for compatibility. Every Thunderbolt 3/4 and USB4 port on a Mac is also a USB-C port, so your MacBook's Thunderbolt port drives the screen over one cable. You do not need a Thunderbolt monitor to get native 5K or 6K.
How many watts can the screen deliver to the MacBook?
Up to 100 W of USB-C Power Delivery from the upstream port. That charges a MacBook Air and most MacBook Pro 14-inch workloads over the same cable that carries the image. A MacBook Pro 16-inch under a heavy load may still prefer its own charger.
Can I use a single USB-C cable?
Yes. One USB-C cable carries the Retina video, up to 100 W to charge the Mac, and the USB hub for your accessories. It is a genuine one-cable desk, whether you keep the laptop open or closed.
What ports are available?
It depends on the model. The G27P has USB-C, DisplayPort 1.4 with DSC, HDMI 2.1, two USB-C, two USB-A and a 3.5 mm audio jack. The P27Z has three USB-C, two HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 2.1 and a 3.5 mm jack. The G32P has two USB-C, two HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 2.1 and a 3.5 mm jack.
What is the DCI-P3 and Adobe RGB coverage?
Wide P3 gamut. The G32P covers 99% DCI-P3 and 99% sRGB; the P27Z covers 98% DCI-P3 and 99% sRGB, both with 10-bit colour. This is the same P3 space macOS works in, so colours match your Mac's own display.
Is the screen factory calibrated?
The colour-accurate models ship tuned for a low colour error, ΔE < 2 on the P27Z, so images look right out of the box. macOS also lets you pick or fine-tune the colour profile in System Settings.
How bright is it?
600 nits on the 27-inch 5K models (G27P and P27Z) and 500 nits on the 32-inch 6K G32P. That is brighter than a typical office screen, comfortable in a well-lit room, with headroom for HDR highlights.
Is it HDR?
Yes. The panels support HDR, with HDR600 on the P27Z. macOS switches to HDR automatically for supported photos, video and games.
What is the maximum refresh rate?
The P27Z reaches 180 Hz at 5K (and 330 Hz at 2K), the fastest in the range. The G27P runs at 75 Hz and the 6K G32P at 60 Hz. On the P27Z you get smooth, high-refresh scrolling on a Mac.
Is it compatible with PS5 and Xbox?
Yes, over HDMI, up to 4K at 60 Hz. Plug a PlayStation, Xbox or Nintendo console into the HDMI 2.1 input and the monitor doubles as a console screen next to your Mac.
What VESA mount does it use?
Standard VESA 100 x 100 mm, so it fits any compatible arm or wall mount. A VESA adapter is included in the box.
Is the stand adjustable?
The P27Z ships with an ergonomic stand: 120 mm of height adjustment, tilt and 90 degree pivot. For the other models you can add a height-adjustable stand or a monitor arm to bring the top of the screen to eye level.
How long is the warranty?
Two years within the European Union and 12 months internationally, from the date of purchase, covering material and manufacturing defects. The applicable period follows the delivery country of your order.
What happens if there is a dead pixel?
Kuycon applies a policy stricter than the ISO 9241-307 Class I standard: more than one defective pixel (bright or dark) per million qualifies the unit for replacement. Send your order number with a photo or short video to customer service and the team arranges repair, replacement or refund.
Are there import fees?
Within the EU, no. Prices are DDP: all customs duties and import VAT are included, with nothing extra to pay on delivery. Outside the EU, any local duties or taxes are shown at checkout or collected by the carrier where applicable.
Where does it ship from and how long does delivery take?
Orders ship from Europe by Colissimo, Chronopost, FedEx, DHL or UPS. Delivery takes 4 to 16 business days within Europe and 5 to 20 outside it. Orders placed before 16:00 Paris time are prepared and shipped within 2 to 3 working days.
